It's Been One Week Since Wisconsin's Primary
The battle now commences for not just the legislature, but also congressional districts. The winners have rallied the base, the losers have conceded gracefully, and the Wisconsin Democrats are looking to reclaim the Assembly for the first time in over a decade. The matchups are set.
The Assembly battleground districts are as follows: 21, 26, 30, 51, 61, 85, 88, 89, 91, 92, and 94. The Senate swing seats include 8, 14, 18, 30, and 32.

Senate
District 8 is formalized: Jodi Habush Sinykin will square off against Duey Stroebel. This is going to be an incredibly tight and expensive race.
In District 14, Sarah Keyeski will attempt to knock off Joan Ballweg as Wisconsin Senate Democrats eye a potential pickup opportunity here,
District 18 features Kristin Alfheim and the winner of the Republican primary winner, Anthony Wayne Phillips. Phillips earned 62% of the vote.
The open District 30’s matchup is official: Jaime Wall and Jim Rafter will fight for the Brown County-centric seat.
In District 32, Democrat Brad Pfaff will attempt to defy the odds yet again in this crucial seat from Republican Stacey Klein.

Assembly
District 21 was uncontested on both sides and will see Democrat David L. Marstellar Jr square off against Republican Jessie Rodriguez.
District 26 is now formalized as there was no primary. Democrat Joe Sheehan will try to claim the open seat over Republican Amy Binsfeld.
Assembly District 30 is a marquee matchup between Republican Assemblywoman Shannon Zimmerman against Democrat Alison H. Page.
In District 51, Democrat Elizabeth Grabe might finally be the one to defeat Republican Todd Novak. Novak has been a consistent overperformer for Republicans and this might be when time catches up to him.
The open seat in District 61 will have the Stunner of 2022, Democrat LuAnn Bird, taking on Bob Donovan. Donovan won with 93% of the Republican Primary vote.
District 85 is the Majority Making seat: whoever controls this seat will control the Assembly. Yee Leng Xiong, representing the Democrats, hopes to send incumbent Republican Pat Snyder packing. In the primary, Xiong received 24 more votes than Snyder.
District 88 is another open race. Democrat Christy Welch faces the Republican victor, Benjamin Franklin, who carried 68% in the primary.
Assembly District 89 is at least the fourth open Assembly seat among the battleground seats. Democrat Ryan Spaude and Republican Patrick Buckley are ready to go down to the wire.
District 91 has friend of the author Democrat Jodi Emerson representing and defending her Eau Claire seat from Michele Magadance Skinner. Emerson is a strong candidate with deep roots and while I feel good about her odds, this race is far from safe.
In District 92, Republican Clint Moses takes on the winner of the Democratic primary, Joe Plouff, in a primary that went down to the wire and is the closest one on Tuesday.
District 94 features a similar heavyweight incumbent in Steve Doyle. The Democrat is widely regarded as a one-man tour de force on the campaign trail. Republican Ryan Huebsch hopes that he will be able to bring down Doyle.
